Pop Culture Timelines Go-To Thread

And Nickelodeon timelines as well
Yep. HB/CN is basically the only major cartoon company that hasn't had a dedicated Alt History series. Other companies will also be involved (Mostly Warner Bros and Disney, DIC and Walter Lantz will play more minor roles but still massively changed from OTL). There will be changes to non-animation media like live action film and television, gaming, and sports that will be brought up (gaming history in particular is heavily intertwined with animation in my plans...) either via crossing over in relevance or general mentions. It is not a utopia, more so a "things are better in a lot of ways but also really different". Most good shows will stay though

2. What if the WB-Seven Arts studio didn't close and began television animation production
3. What if theatrical cartoons don't die out and companies like HB and WB made a whole new generation of theatrical productions (WB with the Looney Tunes, HB using ended television characters like Huckleberry Hound and Yogi Bear)
So kinda like my own AU, Merrily We Roll Along?

the history of the WB 7 Arts studio in my TL will be pretty similar however in terms of later events like
Star Wars becoming an animated film or Chuck Jones becoming disgraced
those won't be happening. WB 7 Arts aren't the main focus (only by the 80s do things there really come in via the rise of cable television) it's HB so I feel like my TL and MWRA are pretty different. Mine will also have a collaborative element (basically everything is fair game except things that interfere with major plot stuff. So someone can't throw in say HB being sold or a new HB hit show but throwing in a one season wonder or a show for a company like Filmation or Lantz that is more successful is fine)

So what have you thought about naming the thread and when will it come out?

Name: I don't know
When will it come out: whenever I'm
1. not busy
2. feel like it
the first few chapters would just be me recapping a period of basically "same as OTL" or "slightly different from OTL but nothing massive". Shows like Huck, Quickdraw, Yogi, Flintstones...those don't need any changes. You could sum up the TL as this
50s: same as OTL
60s: mostly the same as OTL with changes becoming gradually more prevalent through the decade
70s: pretty different
80s: Massive s*** goes down with ramifications beyond animation (not saying I won't touch on other stuff before the 70s the 80s is just where everything starts being pretty heavily effected)

How about we call it Smarter Than the Average Studio?

May I recommend following @Geekhis Khan's advice on making a pop culture timeline? If you ever want to continue past the 80s, you may need to.

Can I ask a weird question?

Imagine the conditions - firstly, the state is isolated from the standard Internet and uses the national intranet (although, given the specifics of the world, we can say that this is an alternative Internet). Secondly, registration on forums there is only possible through an ID. The question is - is it possible in such conditions for any distribution of Internet pornography (I will say right away that in this state there are laws restricting this content)?

I plan on creating a new AU sometime this year (sooner than later though). It will be mostly collaborative (basically everything is fine except if it interferes with my major plans for the whole thing). It's an AU of television animation but with three changes
Ok.
1. What if Hanna-Barbera continues their 50s-60s output level of quality compared to their lesser 70s-80s output
That's actually a imterestimg idea.
Ok......
there are a few other major changes later on like
Yeah....
what if WB kept Nickelodeon
Now that's interesting to see.....
Turner buying Paramount instead of being gobbled up by WB
Cool! I had that idea for some TLs of mime...
the whole thing is inspired by the fact we got Disney timelines, we got WB timelines, but we don't have one centered around Hanna-Barbera
First, I used to make a Hanna-Barbera timeline, but that was when I was still new to this website.

Second, this new AU is something I'll keep tabs on if it comes out this year. I just think the continuation of HB's 60s output would require for Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera to maintain the company themselves, even sticking with Screen Gems if they have to. I think selling the studio to Taft kinda did them in early.
Right...
The question is: when can we talk about the mass distribution of the import of television shows?
I'm not sure.....
Pretty interesting! I even encouraged @TheFaultsofAlts to make a Hanna-Barbera TL.

And Nickelodeon timelines as well. See signature.
Right.

I mean, Player Two Start - perhaps the most famous pop culture TL on this site - was a collaboration between @RySenkari and @Nivek so go ahead!

EDIT: If, of course, @More Than A Feeling wants to though.

That's a GREAT name!!!

I could also give advice if needed. I am writing a similar TL that I'm struggling with.
Cool!

Is it possible for Nintendo to try and reach out to Microsoft to collaborate with them on their next console after the N64? Maybe Nintendo, after rejecting Microsoft’s previous deal to acquire them, gets second thoughts and realises that MS could give them the 1-up that they need to become a more powerful player in the console market, and potentially, usurp Sony’s place as the number 1 leader of the market and get that position back so that they can become dominator again?

Yeah, it could work!

The thing is not only Microsoft bombed their interview,is that Nintendo already have the GameCube ready to go(IBM billionaire contract, the start up they founded to make the GPU was already a competent one ,etc) when MS didn't even have a CPU,let alone GPU.
