HT book help

I'm looking for the name of an HT book. The book is a about how the Med dried up and neanderthals inhabbit the eath along with humans. Can anybody tell me the title?

No, it's not. It's one of three or four HT books that I actually like. The sequel to Wheels of If is good too.
