A Wrinkle in Time got great reviews from critics and audiences, some even calling it one of the best films of 1987. Sadly the movie underperformed at the box office, due to steep competition from film's like Touchstone's Three Men and a Baby and Disney's The Great Mouse Detective[1]. The disappointing box office, along with the retirement of Walter Lantz, lead to major restructuring to the Universal Animation studio.
